In the public area of the apartment, the design team eliminated the huge pillars by simplifying the design and enlarging the entrance. The turning corridor with curved corners creates a sense of ritual when coming home. To meet the storage needs of the family, several storage rooms were added. The client's request for a spacious living room to encourage family interaction was achieved by combining the TV wall with the closet in the children's room, using a double-sided cabinet to eliminate the need for a partition wall.
The design of the apartment is based on a color palette of white and gray, with beige as an overlay to present an elegant style in the public area. The curved ceiling is covered in gray special paint, while the wooden flooring adds warmth to the space. The suspended TV wall enhances transparency and injects a touch of warmth. Natural stone, wood veneer, and ironwork are incorporated into the dining and kitchen areas, creating a wonderful highlight on the facade.
The apartment has a total area of 138.8 square meters and features 3 bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and 3 bathrooms. The design team fully integrated the client's needs and transformed the space into a three-bedroom, two-room layout. The private area of the apartment is designed with relaxation and elegance in mind, using wood and white to create a serene bedroom. The L-shaped dressing rooms on the left and right sides provide ample storage space.
Despite the square layout of the apartment, the design team used curved trim on the walls of the storage room and strategic lighting to visually lighten the space and alleviate the sense of oppression caused by the large beams and columns. The kitchen is divided into sections according to the open plan, with a sliding glass door bringing in natural light and creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The living room serves as a cozy space for family activities, with the parents cooking while the kids play and watch TV.
The project was completed in August 2022 in Taiwan. The design team focused on creating a minimalist style that showcased delicate textures and colors under natural daylight. The use of curves, simple lines, and diverse material combinations enriched the overall look of the apartment. The design team overcame challenges such as defining the open plan of the public area and creating a restrained yet elegant design for the bedroom.
The minimalist style of the apartment is characterized by a refreshing color palette of white and gray, creating a serene and comfortable atmosphere. The use of curves and light helps to alleviate the disadvantage of short beams and adds visual interest to the space. The flooring, cabinets, and lines are carefully woven together, conveying the true essence of minimalist design. The warm-colored bedroom provides a sense of relief and tranquility.
